Cortez Brothers

On the occasion of the launch of the reissued classical Cortez running shoes, Nike decided to create two special characters: Phil and Bill, based on Nike’s co-founders Phil Knight and Bill Bowerman. While Bill shares the blue nylon / old school style of the original 1972 Nike Cortez, Phil’s post-modern shapes and silver metallic outlook represents the 2009 edition.

Designed by Tokyoplastic for a video animation, the digital models have been turned by Sartoria into 1 meter high sculptures for premium instore installations, produced with state-of-the-art rapid prototyping technology.
